Annual Swim a thon: January 23rd.
Please refer to information below. Letters will go home with your daughters week of January 4th with a Donation Sheet.

Swimmers and Parents:
The Mermaids will hold a Swim-A-Thon to raise money for the 2010 season. For those of you that never participated in a Swim-A-Thon, this is how it works:
Every swimmer will receive a pledge sheet to take to neighbors, friends, relatives, co-workers, etc. They will ask them to pledge an amount for each lap the swimmer completed in an hour. Some people prefer to give a flat amount so that they are not surprised later at what they owe. This is acceptable and you can even collect that amount at the time you ask them to pledge.
After getting your pledges, you will swim your laps at practice on SATURDAY, January 23rd.
You will swim for one hour and when you are finished, the lap counter volunteer will verify your lap count on your lap sheet. (1 lap counter per 2 swimmers)
Finally, you will collect all money with pledge sheets and return it in a sealed envelope after practice on SATURDAY, January 30th, to your team mom or to Dawn.
All swimmers are required to participate as part of their fundraising obligation for this season. We want to raise as much as possible to cover our club costs during the competition season. Each swimmer is required to raise at least or donate at least $250 per swimmer for this event. All money collected on your daughters behalf will be credited to your Annual Fundraising Obligation for the 2010 Season.
See your Team Mom and ask how you can help. We will need lap counters and sign-in volunteers.
We also are looking for corporate donors to match our lap donations. Please contact a board member about a corporate sponsor packet.
SWIM-A-THON SCHEDULE:
January 4th – Pledge sheets go out
January 4th through January 22nd collect pledges for laps
January 23rd - Swim-A-Thon
January 30th - All pledge moneys due to your Team Mom.
