| Heather Carassco - Head Coach
Heather Carrasco grew up in Santa Clara, CA. where she started as a synchronized swimmer at the age of 8 years old. She swam competitively for 18 years both Nationally and Internationally. During that time she won 5 National Championships and 7 Word Cup Championships toping off her career with a gold medal in the 1996 Olympic Games. She was awarded the Esther Williams Creative Achievement Award picked by Esther Williams her self for the most artistic soloist and was on the USSS All-American team from 1989-1996. She continued on to coach both Club and US National Synchronized Swim Teams. In 2004 Heather moved to Las Vegas and was hired on at the Silverton Hotel and Casino as the original cast that created the underwater show AZURE . After the show was cancelled in 2006 she remained at the Silverton Hotel and Casino as one full time mermaid. Heather continues coaching athletes on both National and Olympic levels.

Founding coach of Nevada Desert Mermaids. Former national champion and world champion. Inducted to USA Synchronized Swimming International Hall of Fame in 1984. Former performer/choreographer for "Splash" at the Riviera Hotel from 1986 - 1992. Director of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services Aquatics Division from 1988 - 2005.

Kaitlyn "Duckie" Gilmore
Assistant Coach
Swam with the Nevada Desert Mermaids for many years, earned countless medals including the gold for age group nationals in 2008. Will graduate from Palo Verde High School in 2011.
